Will you tell me?\n What is on my woman's mind?\n Can I slay a . boar or harpy\n To put our suff'ring behind?\nIII\n She laughed . . and left me standing\n Wond'ring what, I could have said\n And to . . my shame demanding\n I hung my weeping head\n \nI\n I went . . to the mountain\n Where the mother sat and wove\n With kids . . cooing and crying\n And a pot, hot on the stove\nII\n I said mother . Can you tell me?\n Why my woman scorns me so\n Can I bring her a fleece or a . flying steed\n So that she'll let me know\nIII\n She smiled and turned to her children\n Calling each of them to heel\n She, too ignored my question\n But shared with me their meal\nI\n I went . . to the mountain\n To beseech the grizzled crone\n Who sits . . with snakes and mushrooms\n In a grey old shack, alone\nII\n I said crone . .
